A note from Lynne's Web Crew...
Some professional
speakers have their "broadcasting voice", but not Lynne. She
speaks in her famous voice all the time. When setting up her site Lynne
wanted her Victorian lamp, known as her "Chelsea Lamp" to be
featured on it. Imagine, it's a day in November 2001, the day the lamp
was being photographed, Lynne walks into her office and reads an email
JOKE aloud... "Osama bin Laden has been captured today by US Special
Forces." Believing we were hearing big news, we immediately start
running toward her office to hear the rest... "They sprayed Viagra
in the area and the little sucker popped right up!"
We stopped
in our tracks. That famous voice sent the story straight into our minds
as truth, bypassing all filters. We found ourselves caught for a second
in a sort of twilight zone, somewhere between hearing a joke and being
the only people in the world to hear the biggest story of the year straight
from Lynne Russell! It took a second for it to set in and all we could
do was laugh. The experience being much funnier than the joke could ever
be.
Here's a
collection of memorable things Lynne has said.
Some come from her books, some from things said to friends, but all are
straight forward and interesting!
Fan Mail
- "First,
Examine the Envelope. Look at the return address. If there's a long
number after his name, he may not be available for a while, but there's
always the chance he's in the tank for more than tearing the tags off
pillows."
Men
- "Even
a Good-Looking Dessert Has to Offer Something Special. If he's absolutely
gorgeous, but there's nothing going on upstairs, you're going to get
awfully tired trying to amuse yourself on a Saturday night watching
this guy buff his nails."
Romantic
Travel, France and Personal Romance
- It's not
about money, it's about attitude. It begins with a frame of mind that
is uniquely French. It invites adventure, and an attitude that appreciates
the romance, the humor, the possibilities in just about anything. It's
"La Vie en Rose" - life through rose-colored glasses.
There's
always more to come...
